The purpose of Emerge Academy is to enhance school performance while being a vehicle for developing leadership acumen as well as personal goal setting skills for minority males in high school within the Houston Area. 

Emerge Academy engages male students by supporting their educational and professional aspirations through academic enhancement, character development, leadership development, and career exposure; on campus and within the larger Houston community. 

 

The program is designed to develop the participants as leaders by inspiring them to identify individual goals, build action plans, and take meaningful steps toward achieving their objective. Using a critical mentoring approach, the program is designed to be flexible based on the needs of the students, as determined with the applicant’s questionnaire and interview. EA leverages group, tag-team and one-to-one mentoring to provide academic support, professionalism, civic engagement and networking.
