Jay currently serves as a Human Resources Generalist at Swell Energy. He specializes in the company’s onboarding process, benefits, and policy writing and development. Before joining Swell Energy, Jay worked at Southwest Airlines as a Regulatory Compliance Specialist and at Sysco as a Human Resources Generalist. He is an Alumnus of Prairie View A&M University, where he attained a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. Jay is pursuing a Master of Science in Human Resources Management from Texas A&M University. Jay has served in several leadership roles within Emerging 100 Houston, and his passion for the youth drives his passion for this organization. Jay is passionate about the arts, etiquette, and molding the minds of future generations.

Kris Mixon currently serves as a Senior Consultant at Deloitte within the Human Capital Consulting Practice. He specializes in the Technology, Media & Entertainment, and Telecommunications industries, providing change strategies for his clients. Prior to joining Deloitte, Kristopher worked for Ernst & Young, and Accenture LLP as a Change Management Consultant. He is an Alumnus of Prairie View A&M University, where he attained a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting, from the College of Business. Shortly after graduating, he achieved a Master of Science in Forensic Accounting from Webster University. He is a current member of the National Association of Black Accountants, as well as the President of Emerging 100 Houston. Kristopher has a strong passion for Real Estate, Professional Development, Corporate and Dining Etiquette, and developing our future young black professionals.

Andre' Phillips serves as the Digital Strategy Lead for the U.S. Neurology portfolio at Eli Lilly Pharmaceutical Company. In this role, he leverages expertise across the global medical landscape to close gaps in clinical care and improve patient outcomes. His diverse background includes valuable experiences at NASA, working on the Exploration Medical Capabilities Team, and impactful clinical work in the Emergency Medicine department at Houston Methodist Hospital. 

 

With a strong foundation in Medicine and Toxicology from The University of Louisiana at Monroe and a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from Texas Southern University, Andre' has contributed to significant research initiatives focused on mental health, space medicine, and social determinants of health in underserved communities. Beyond his professional endeavors, Andre’ is a serial entrepreneur and proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. He is deeply committed to uplifting and empowering black youth by way of The 100, and his work is fueled by a passion to improve societal perceptions of the black man. Andre’ hopes to provide the younger generation with the resources and mentorship for success, embodying the principle, "what they see is what they'll be."

Triston is a Senior Manager of Preconstruction for PLW Waterworks with more than 10 years of experience in engineering and construction management of collaborative delivery projects, upgrades to existing facilities, and engineering services during construction (resident engineering, QA/QC, and design management). Triston also has managed inter-disciplinary teams and has experience with nearly all facets of engineering and construction activities for projects and programs in the water/wastewater, healthcare, and federal markets. Triston holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland. He often dedicates his time to mentoring engineering students and youth in the community and has provided volunteer service for events nationwide. As a STEM advocate, he is always available to speak with prospective students about engineering. Having devoted countless hours to outreach, promoting education and creating programs, he hopes to encourage elementary, middle and high school students to pursue STEM degrees.  His personal philosophy is to “Dress Well, Live Well, and Learn Every Day!”

Terrell Smith is a visionary leader in supplier diversity, economic empowerment, and social impact, currently serving as Global Supplier Diversity Program Manager at HP Inc. In this role, he architects and executes HP’s global supplier diversity strategy, ensuring that diverse-owned businesses have equitable access to HP’s multi-billion-dollar supply chain. His expertise spans inclusive sourcing, corporate social responsibility, and procurement strategy, where he collaborates with executive leaders and procurement teams to drive sustainable impact.

A proud native of Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, Terrell is the eldest of four siblings, a role that shaped his deep sense of responsibility, resilience, and commitment to mentorship. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science & World Religion, with minors in Philosophy and Pre-Law, from Lincoln University of Pennsylvania, the first degree-granting Historically Black College & University (HBCU). He continues to champion leadership and financial sustainability as Vice President of Finance for Emerging 100 Houston, an organization dedicated to mentoring and empowering young Black men in the Houston area.

Jonathan is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC), and Certified Teacher (EC-12) with over 10 years of experience in social services and education. He currently serves as a Special Education Teacher for Houston Independent School District, a Mental Health Therapist at Dominque Spigner, LLC, and a Program Therapist for Oceans Behavioral Health Hospital in Katy, Texas. He is also a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated.

Throughout his career, Jonathan has gained extensive experience across various settings, including direct care and management roles in Residential and Day Treatment programs, teaching English Language Arts and Mathematics to elementary, middle, and high school students, and serving as a Child and Family Therapist and Program Administrator for both national and local social service agencies. In these roles, he has worked with individuals and families to provide clinical therapy, case management, and oversee program operations. Jonathan specializes in supporting individuals, groups, and families dealing with anxiety, depression, severe behavior disorders, mood disorders, substance abuse challenges, and psychotic disorders, among others. His life mission is to empower others to share, learn, and apply new skills to achieve their personal goals.

Darren Campbell is a native of Allen,TX and is the current Treasurer for Emerging 100 Houston. He graduated from  The University of Houston, with a Bachelors of Science in Political Science. Professionally, he works in education with Alvin Independent School District, as a High School Mathematics and Biology Educator. In his role as Treasuer, he keeps and  maintains accurate accounting of the Organization's finances. Darren has served on the education committee and enjoys serving the community through the organizations Emerge Academy Mentoring Program. Providing young men with the tool and resources to succeed in high school and beyond is the most important goal to Darren.

Marcus Esther, Esq.

Parliamentarian

Mr. Esther is a criminal defense attorney and adjunct professor of Law Practice Management. He is a 2015 graduate of Texas Southern University and a 2018 graduate of Thurgood Marshall School of Law.  Upon graduation, he started The Law Office of Marcus Esther, PLLC, to provide advocacy to those in need. Marcus has received numerous awards such as the Rising Star Super Lawyer recognition for 2020-2023 and the Diversity Award presented by the Houston Bar Association. In the community, Marcus Esther served as the president for the Houston Lawyers Association from 2022-2023, and currently serves as the attorney and Social Justice Ministry Leader for New Life Church of Texas in Texas City, TX. Marcus is also a member of the Alpha Eta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated.
